Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the

"The Batsheva de Rothschild Seminar on New Horizons in Optical Trapping: Applications to Biophysics, Statistical Mechanics, and Optics”

which will take place on June 24 – 28, 2018 at Neve Ilan Hotel, located in rural, green surroundings at the heart of the Judean Hills. Although the location is within a short drive from Jerusalem and a half hour ride from Tel Aviv, it is rather remote. We recommend that all participants take accommodation at the venue.

The conference revolves around six interrelated topics, which are:

  1. Beam shaping and tailored optical forces.

  2. Biomechanics from single cells to single molecules.

  3. Stochastic thermodynamics in small systems.

  4. Optically trapped droplets & micro-particles.

  5. Shaped light and scattering Media.

  6. Plasmonics and unconventional optical traps.

Participants wishing to present a poster are invited to submit an abstract.  A number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.

We look forward to welcoming all our guests to Israel, and to making this a fun learning event.

The abstract submission and registration will be open soon. Do register your interest via the link below, we will notify you via email when the abstract submission and registration are open.
