The Batsheva de Rothschild Seminar on
New Horizons in Optical Trapping:
Applications to Biophysics, Statistical Mechanics, and Optics
Israel | 24-28 June 2018

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the
"The Batsheva de Rothschild Seminar on New Horizons in Optical Trapping: Applications to Biophysics, Statistical Mechanics, and Optics”

which will take place on June 24 – 28, 2018 at Neve Ilan Hotel, located in rural, green surroundings at the heart of the Judean Hills. Although the location is within a short drive from Jerusalem and a half hour ride from Tel Aviv, it is rather remote. We recommend that all participants take accommodation at the venue.
The conference revolves around six interrelated topics, which are:

-
Beam shaping and tailored optical forces.
-
Biomechanics from single cells to single molecules.
-
Stochastic thermodynamics in small systems.
-
Optically trapped droplets & micro-particles.
-
Shaped light and scattering Media.
-
Plasmonics and unconventional optical traps.
Participants wishing to present a poster are invited to submit an abstract. A number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.
We look forward to welcoming all our guests to Israel, and to making this a fun learning event.
